Our client is one of the biggest players in offshore wind energy and is currently building eight wind farms in six countries, both onshore and offshore. Our client has approximately 270 employees around Europe. You can expect a dynamic work atmosphere in a growing team within an internationally oriented business unit.

For this company, we are looking for a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Engineer to support the local management team in Germany, which is focused on Offshore Wind Farms.

Your tasks will include

  • Develop and coordinate international HSE standards in on-/offshore windfarming with other HSE country representatives within the company
  • Providing independent authoritative advice, support and assistance to the management teams covering all aspects HSE for on and offshore wind projects and eventual operations
  • Develop local management arrangements for this area of work
  • Develop HSE plans for construction and maintenance cycles
  • Identification of suitable HSE training for all employees
  • Reporting and investigation of accidents
  • Collation of KPI and accident statistics
  • Correspondence with public authorities
  • Audits and inspections of the Company’s activities and contractors working for them
  • Responsible for continual HSE improvement and coordination with local management
  • Integration of HSE requirements in the tenders

The desired qualifications are

  • University degree in engineering with specialization in environmental engineering, naval engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable background
  • Qualifications according to the German “BaustellV”, ideally previous experience as Health & Safety Officer (German "SiGeKo")
  • Work experience with the functional, technical and organizational planning of constructions and knowledge of the typical construction project processes
  • Relevant legislation is known to you and you have prior experience with bidding and building laws
  • Initial experience with international construction contracts or offshore projects is desired
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • You will be part of an international safety organization and shall be required to have proficient written & verbal English skills
  • Teamwork skills, high degree of initiative and authority
  • Willingness to go on business trips and deployments for offshore work
  • Good work ethic and high degree of commitment
